The Left declares: It's about racism!
Sosialistiliitto believes that the whole Mohammed cartoon issue is about racism. The article fails to defend freedom of speech or stand up against Islamic extremism. The whole article is, once again, about demonizing the West and evil Western values.
According to Sosialistiliitto the paper that published the Mohammed cartoons, Jyllands-Posten, is being racist because it refuses to mock Christianity and its icons the same way it mocks Islam. So what? Freedom of speech doesn't mean that you have a duty to mock your own beliefs but that you have a right, a liberty, to mock the things you don't happen to like.
Freedom of speech is a lot more important right than anyone's "right" not to be offended.
Like always, the left remains silent about wide-spread racial hatred projected by Muslims on Christians and Jews. In the minds of our fellow left-wing pinkos it's okay for Iran to spew out racial propaganda but when the west dares to criticize the many underdeveloped traits of Arab/Muslim culture it's all about the westerners being racist bigots. The left sees that Israel and the Evil Empire are responsible for the current state of the Arab world and are therefore responsible for any anti-Jewish sentiments. The fact that anti-Jewish propaganda like "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" is being taught at schools across the Arab world doesn't seem to bother them.

And yes - you can find a negative reference to America, George Bush and dead Iraqi civilians from the article. Who'd have thought that the left managed to add a bit of anti-Americanism into that tiny article?
While Europeans are trying to determine which side they're on our American friends have already chosen their side. "Buy Danish" campaigns have boosted sales of Danish products in America.
Not so good news from Sweden:

Jyllands-Posten has received praise for describing positive aspects of immigration. In an EU-competition for Diversity and against discrimination in 2005 it won the second prize for a series of articles describing the positive aspects of immigrants in Denmark -Wikipedia

Not so good news from Sweden:
"The tiny racist party Sverigedemokraterna published a picture of Mohammed in its web magazine. This led the Swedish foreign ministry, led by foreign minister Laila Freivalds, and the intelligence agency SÄPO to contact their internet provider, Levonline, and apparently tell them that this is not suitable. Last night, the web magazine was closed down. "We think that this was the best decision after we were contacted by the Foreign Ministry and Säpo", a representative of Levonline says to Dagens Nyheter.
The Swedish government is putting lives at risk, by showing that threats on Swedes and Danes lead to a change of Swedish policy. Extremists learn that violence works." -Johan Norberg
